GeoVue offers a range of equipment solutions designed to suit different project sizes and technical requirements. From simple mobile setups using a smartphone and impact source, to larger, more powerful systems built for deep or complex investigations, our technology scales with your needs. Whether you are running a small field survey or a large-scale commercial or government project, GeoVue has the capability to match the job.

Seismic Source Options

Option 1 - Hammer and plate

The standard sledgehammer approach is the simplest and most cost-effective seismic option within the GeoVue system. It uses a manual impact source to generate the pressure wave needed for subsurface analysis. The heavier the hammer, the deeper the energy can travel into the ground. As a general guide, a 4-pound hammer can reach depths of around 50 metres, an 8-pound hammer around 150 metres, and a 12-pound hammer up to approximately 300 metres. This method offers a practical and flexible solution for most shallow to mid-depth investigations.

Option 2 - ATV-mounted

The Ute and ATV-mounted system is designed for larger commercial surveys and can investigate depths of up to 800 meters. It’s ideal for covering bigger areas efficiently while delivering stronger, more consistent energy input. The trailer-mounted option is particularly suited to large-scale or hired projects where higher output and productivity are required.

Option 3 - Drop weight

These rigs are capable of investigating depths ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 metres, making them ideal for enhanced geothermal systems and large-scale oil and energy exploration. Their major advantage is not only depth capability, but also mobility — they are engineered to operate across challenging terrain and remote locations. This setup is best suited to major commercial, government, and energy-sector projects requiring maximum penetration and coverage.

Option 4 - Mobile air hammer

The GeoTech machine designed specifically for hard surfaces and smaller-scale jobs. It delivers the same depth capability as the standard sledgehammer system while providing a more controlled and efficient impact source. The unit can be powered by any standard air compressor, making it highly portable and easy to deploy. This makes it an ideal solution for urban, paved, or compacted ground environments where manual impact methods may not be practical.
